Welcome to kissing bridge cottage

Kissing Bridge Cottage accommodates 4 guests and comes complete with all that you need for a comfortable short or longer stay. 

We are only a 10 minute drive to either the town of Hampton or Quispamsis where you will find shops and excellent local eateries.  A 40 minute drive will bring you to  St. Martins, a small village on the Bay of Fundy. Also known as 'A Place of Tidal Wonder', where you can explore sea caves, go for a hike, search for sea glass and you can continue on to the famous Fundy Trail. 

Built in the 50’s, by my Grandparents, this vintage but tidy, rustic but cozy cottage is self contained, fully equipped and is welcoming you home for now to darling’s Island!

It's a quiet and serene location sitting on the banks of the Hammond River, surrounded by nature and is really where you’ll want to spend most of your time. The century old Covered Bridge (now used for only foot and bicycle traffic) is just a short stroll down your driveway, and has been restored in Spring of 2023.

Inside this classic Canadian cottage, you’ll find the space thoughtfully laid out for optimal views of the river, functionality and relaxing.

The mud room was created to give you an area for all your extra travel items, jackets and shoes, as well as provided beach gear/toys.

The kitchen has all you need to cook and dine, the table has 4 chairs and 2 extra stools for company. It’s fully stocked with Toaster/Microwave/Blender/Slowcooker/12 cup Coffee Brewer/Electric Kettle. Plus spices/oil/coffee/tea/fridge condiments.

In the cozy living room there’s plenty of seating with a chez lounge, reclining leather love seat and sofa. There’s a smart TV  and extra blankets, slippers even a bed for your pup. The bookshelf is bursting with books, games and toys. Everything you need to curl up and unwind when needed or if the weather isn’t the best.

The Bedroom off the living room holds a Queen sized bed, dresser, closet, fan and smart TV.

Through the hallway from the kitchen a closet houses the washer and dryer, vacuum and paper products.

The second bedroom has a double/full bed with a dresser and small smart TV and is closest to the washroom.

The small but bright bathroom includes a glass shower stall , linen and toiletries.

Your private deck is equipped with seating for 4 and a BBQ, and on the lawn continues to your large picnic table with umbrella, for traditional outdoor dining. 

The front yard overlooking the charming covered bridge is all yours. It contains a disk swing for the kids, a hammock, and your own bonfire pit and chairs, so make sure to pick up firewood, for cozy star gazing evenings. 

Fishing and swimming are encouraged. Floaties can be available for lazy river adventures. The Hammond River is tidal, and is always moving and switches directions every 6 or so hours. So if you are floating, it’s a good idea to tie yourself to shore. Kayaking is really the best way to immerse yourself in the beautiful Hammond River channels. Luckily we have many kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards for our guests to use, life jackets too! FYI - BECAUSE THIS IS A TIDAL RIVER THE WEATHER AND TIME OF YEAR HAVE A DIRECT EFFECT ON THE WATER LEVEL/BEACH. 

The backyard houses our Kissing Bridge Cabin (about 100’ from the cottage) and likely has up to 2 guests on vacation as well, this is intended as their area.

BOTH our Cottage and Cabin guests SHARE the small private beach, kayaks/paddles/safety gear. There’s a few lawn games too.

This Classic Cottage has been recreated for a fun and relaxing vacation and/or a Base for exploring more of New Brunswick’s beauty. The Island has a relaxed vibe that allows you to feel at home and unwind in its tranquil surroundings.
