This peaceful property provides our guests with a comfortable riverside stay. Alongside an iconic New Brunswick covered bridge, and one of the most popular kayaking destinations in the Province.
Our cozy and tidy Cottage and Cabin(s), with lovely views inside and out, are available for short or medium term vacations from May to the middle of October.
We’ve been hosting our little piece of paradise to guests from all over the world since 2018, with many that have and still return each season.
I wanted to go back to a simpler way of meeting our future guests, word of mouth.
You could be recommended by our own lovely family and friends (who have likely stayed with us too) or by our wonderful past and present guests. So…thank you and
Welcome to the Island!!!

Darlings Island is a small residential community on a tiny island about 30 km's East of Saint John NB. Access to the island is via our modern, concrete bridge that was built in 1996. The original Darlings Island covered bridge still remains but is closed to traffic. Because of the breathtaking beauty of the area, the covered bridge is still often used for weddings, community gatherings and photo opportunities.
Our island is a nature lovers paradise! Surrounded on all sides by thriving beautiful marshlands and river channels, with a variety of birds and wildlife that will never cease to amaze! The Nauwigewauk Community Club property begins directly on the other side of the covered bridge, includes the public beach and continues through its easy hiking trails. These follow the river, across the road to the marsh and loop through large maples, oaks and birch trees around the field and baseball diamond. There’s even a fun playground area and a fully enclosed tennis, pickleball and basketball court.
The original settlers of Darlings Island were attracted to the area by its lush and exquisite landscape. The spectacular scenery that spurred the initial settlement is closely linked to the interplay between the rolling topography of the land, the waters of the Kennebecasis River, the Hammond River and Darlings Lake. And I just happen to be a descendant of The Darling’s, dating back to the 1700’s!!
